Can i upgrade my G5 for the latest itunes

My iMac G5 won let me download a later version of itunes, so I cant use my iPhone with it! It tell me the infrastructure is not supported

iPhone 5c, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

A G5 can't be upgraded past Mac OS X 10.5.8 or iTunes 10.6.3, or sync any device running iOS 7.

you will need to buy the latest iMac running os 10.6 or higher

Note: Any Mac whose model refreshed in 2006 with an Intel CPU supports the newer 10.6.8 and the newer iOS 7 syncing. Migrating to the newer models is described below:
