Q: Wifi is connected and works in parallels (Windows 8.1) but in mavericks it doesn't work

The wifi bar is full so I am connected to the internet. But when I use safari or chrome in mavericks to open up a webpage, it takes a lot time and sometimes it doesn't load. Whereas when I use Windows 8.1 pro via Parallels 9 I can browse the web without any problems.

I tried the mobilespeedtest.com website to check my speed when using chrome in windows 8.1 pro (Parallels) and compared it to the speed obtained in using the chrome browser in mavericks. In windows 8.1 pro (Parallels) it says 1500kbps and in mavericks it's just 32kbps.

I even tried connecting to my neighbour friend's wifi and it doesn't the same. The internet works well in Windows but it doesn't work in mavericks.
