You can either use Apple's recycling program if there's one in your country, or sell it to someone other than Apple, and put the money or gift card you get towards a new one.

Apple does not have a tade-in or buy back program for computers...you would probably get more money selling it on eBay or some such place and put the money towards the MacBook you want.
