Q: MacBook Pro 2009 15"

Hi, just got a brand new genuine battery and magsafe for my MacBook Pro as the cycle count on the old one was 1250 and the magsafe was abit shabby.

My MacBook when plugged in, shows 'battery is not charging' however when I use the MacBook for about 10-20 minutes the LED on the magsafe end changes to orange and starts charging.. when I remove the Magsafe again it takes a little while to get it to charge.

Was just wondering if anybody knows why this is happening and any ideas what I can do ?

Thanks

Ok, got the laptop stripped, cleaned the dust from under the logic board (plenty of it) reseated all connections,

Cleaned the MagSafe connection and it seems to be functioning a not better, it hasn't cured the problem but now when I move the MagSafe quite a bit on the connection it shows a green light. (Possibly when the MagSafe end is placed in the correct position.

I'm now thinking it possibly is the MagSafe connection on the logic board as it does work when I move the charger end on it.
