Q: My iPad does not restore Error (9)

Hello,

I have a iPad 2 with ios 6. I saw that ios 7 was there and I decieded to give it a try! When it was updated, my iPad did not turn on. It showed a wire pluging in to iTunes. I understood and plugged it in my computer, iTunes detected that it was in recovery mode. I plugged it in and asked me to install ios 7. I pressed yes.

Now it downloaded the file, extracted it and then started to load in the iPad.

Now is where the problem starts, the iPad opens and the Apple logo appears with a bar underneath it.(Same thing I saw while updating). The bar does not progress, and after a minute my iPad screen goes black. My iTunes says that restore could not be completed and error 9 occured.

Also, my computer USB is good, so is the iPad wire. I can prove this by saying that, when I will plug it into my Computer, it shows that my computer detects it. It stays like that as long as it is plugged in. When the apple logo appears (with the bar), my computer just disconnects.

And THEN error 9 occurs. My ipad is fully charged (I left it overnight). So anyone have a idea how ti fix it?

Thanks  in advance!!!

iPad 2, iOS 6.1.3

Also, when plugged into a USB 3.0 port, it will remain the connection but no progress on the bar.

    Configure your security software

Related errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006, 9807, or 9844. Sometimes as a result of this issue, a device might stop responding during the restore process.

Check your security software and settings, which can block ports and prevent connection to Apple servers during update and restore.

Good News for all my friends facing iPad 2 recovery mode issue.

I was on old OS 4.3.3 working absolutely fine. i connected my iPad 2 to my PC for charging for the first time which had iTunes installed. As soon as i connected it detected my iPad 2 and asked me to upgrade it to latest iOS. i agreed to restore and update. But this destroyed my iPad and was unusable with error (9). i tried many a times on different PC different Cable PC with not security no Firewall but nothing worked. I handed it over to Apple repair center for restoration of my iPad.

Apple store after 48 Hours of test and hard work declared that my iPad cannot be restored back or upgraded, they offered me exchange with 16K with new iPad.

The reason given for the error was that the system had some internal hard drive issues.

Then i decided to try something on my Own and after searching for a while on internet when  i found this

http://www.wondershare.com/drfone-iphone-data-recovery.html it available for both Mac and Windows OS. i downloaded and followed simple instruction and it worked like miracle.

I phone is restored back to Old iOS with issue problem at all.

I bet this is apple generated issue so that they can generate more revenue and also get the old iPad sold from the stock which no one is going to buy.

if some third party software can restore my iPad back why cant the Apple do it for me in 48 Hours.

Apple has started working like SAMSUNG. New OS upgrade will make your system slow and unusable and you will have to switch to new Phone new OS.

I would thank to Wondershare Dr.Fone for the lovely piece of software.

I would request every one to try this to restore your lovely iPad.

After Apple store did some test and hard work declared that my iPad cannot be restored back or upgraded, they offered me exchange too.

They gave me the same reason as yours, that the system had some internal hard drive issues.

Then after i search everything about error (9), i try ur recommend then it works.

Thanks to you and thanks to Wondershare Dr.Fone for the lovely piece of software.
And off course, it got free trial.

    My iPad2 works normally now
