How Do I Transfer Videos (Made in Windows Movie Maker) to iTunes?

I have read posts that say when I have opened my iTunes, to simply click the top left of the window Add > Add file & then select the file (in this case video) I wish to import. I have done this countless times & it has yet to do anything at all. It simply goes away once I click on it, & cannot be found anywhere.
