"Working Set" folder on hosted exchange on Office 365

I use Office 365 to host my Exchange email and Apple Mail as my only mail client on 10.9.3. A few days ago a new, empty folder appeared in my account called "Working Set". I didn't deliberately create it and I cannot delete, move or rename this folder. It has since appeared on all my macs.

When I try to delete it, Mail reports that Exchange has refused the operation because it is a distinguished folder.

I don't see "Working Set" in the list of known distinguished folders on the EWS dev centre. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/jj191225(v=exchg.150).aspx

Any ideas what created this folder and how I can remove it?

By the way, I asked O365 support and they came up with this: "To be honest, based on these clues, I suspected that this folder is generated by the MAC system or some other applications and processes. Since from OWA, it is online mode which is mostly synced as the data persists on Exchange Server."

Thank God, I thought I was going mad. Setting up O365 for the first time today and saw this - happy to see I'm not alone.

As with you all, the folder isn't there on the web client, and can't be deleted from the Mail.app client. There doesn't seem to be a way to hide the folder either.

I'm seeing this too. Lots of odd little peculiarities with Office 365 and Mac Mail, including Mail.app crashing when adding an Exchange account. Over 4500 views of this topic!

I'm attempting to recommend Mac systems as a better direction for a medium-business client. They now use Office 365. This isn't helping!

Well, I have an even worse experience with the mysterious "Working Set" folder. I am also running O365 on my Apple Mail client and all subfolders that I created for my Exchange account, appeared under the "Working Set" master folder. Well, it worked fine and I created a lot of sub folders and moved emails into my new folder structure.

This morning my "Working Set" folder was gone and with it, all my folders and content... Microsoft claimed it must be Apple, but they are now investigating. When trying to create a new folder for my Exchange account today, it appeared under the list "Exchange" top left corner and not under a master folder, like Working Set, as in the past.

My guess is that MS or Apple has solve the problem, but in the process deleted all "Working Set" folders with it's content

Anyone seen anything like this?

I have on all the Mac's using Mac Mail with our exchange accounts. Yesterday morning on the Working Set folders disappeared. This wasn't an issue for anybody except for one user. She like yourself had everything stored in that Working Set folder. I've been working to find it ever since. MS said it's not on their servers so it must be a local folder and hence an Apple issue.

I've resorted to running a lost file recovery utility to see if I can pull deleted data off the hard drive before it's too late.
