Q: Unable to send emails from iPad

I use a hotmail email address on my iPad. I have recently had to change my password. Microsoft are telling me that it will take 30 days to complete change of security info. I have changed my password in settings on my iPad, but cannot send emails. I get a message saying password is incorrect. I have done a hard reset. I can send mail from my laptop ok. Any suggestions?

iPad (3rd gen) Wi-Fi, iOS 7.1.1
