Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand the the microphone is only not working while taking video. If it seems to work using Siri, Voice Memos, and on calls, and you are sure you are not covering the microphone when holding it taking videos I suggest trying the steps in the following article.
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts5183
Resolve the issue
Follow these steps, testing after each.
- Make sure nothing is plugged in to the jack connector.
- Make sure nothing is blocking any of the microphones (refer to the pictures below to find your device's microphones). Check for these:
- Dirt or debris
- A screen protector or case
- When you're holding your phone next to your ear, make sure you don't block the microphone with your fingers or shoulder and make sure to speak into the microphone
- Turn the iPhone off and then on.
- Update to the latest version of iOS.
- If necessary, find general iPhone hardware troubleshooting suggestions.
- For further assistance, contact Apple Support.
If the issue continues after you complete the steps listed above, it may be necessary to follow step 6 and contact Apple Support.
I hope this helps,
-Joe

Dec 7, 2014 8:43 AM in response to gul khan322by petafromwarrnambool,In case you still have this issue I thought id share my tip. The microphone being located in the tiny hole next to the head phone jack I thought that maybe it would be an idea to unblock the hole to see if that was the issue. I grabbed a pin and hey presto problem was solved! I was EXTREMELY delicate in doing this, taking care not to push too far in, so as to not wreck or damage the mic due to its size. I feel also that I must stress this..... BE SUPER CAREFUL PEOPLE!!! If you don't have delicate hands don't do this lol, if so then go ahead lol.But serious, it was that easy to fix
