Did I pay for Garageband?

I just went to the Apple Store and downloaded and installed Garageband which said it was free. But it's listed in my 'Purchases' now. Does that means I was charged for it? Because no money went from my account at all?

GarageBand installs in two steps. It will first install a basic content, then download additional basic content, and you can buy additional content as an in-app purchase. If you previously owned g

GarageBAnd this additional in-app purchase should be free. Check, how many drummers you have. If you have more than the drummer Socal, you have indeed installed the in-app purchase. See this document:

I see. It looks like I got hit the $5 for the extra drummers and stuff without realising.

I wish Apple would not be so ambiguous and sneaky with the language they use.. phrases like 'Free', and 'Free Purchase" might not be free at all.

Then it adds all free downloaded apps to the 'Purchased' list,.. and always demands you to confirm your credit card details even to download any and all silly free apps. It's difficult to know what's free and and what moment Apple is deciding to take real cash from you.

I am certain it's this way by design.

I won't be using the Apple crook shop.. I mean store for anything again.
