How to reset data meter in Network (Activity Monitor)?

Hello, since there's built in bandwidth monitor, I just need to find a way how to reset it.

I want to see how much data is being uploaded and downloaded during the night (checking for suspicious malware activity).

Of course, I can record current values and in the morning just deduct from what is there and get an aswer, but reseting is what im looking for.

Reinstalling OS would also do it. Thank you for your wisdom.

I have the same question cabavyras. I want to be able to see my data usage during a given time when I am connected to a VPN, without having to reboot. After a couple hours of researching technical solutions, I never could find a way to reset the native counter.

This free program, however, monitors bandwidth and you can reset its counter. You can also make a split so that it tracks usage before/after a certain time. And it will monitor all network connections (including wired).

Hope that helps!
