I am not able to access a roster of my students in my course manager. There is no icon and the number is not a live link. Can anyone help me change that? I need to know who is downloading the course. It is not a public course. It is an institutional course.

What do you see when you click the course, then the student tab? Is "Allow new requests" on?

In Course Settings, is the course self-paced or in-session, i.e. it has dates listed?
