I loaded Snow Leopard onto my IMAC desktop yesterday and after doing so, I am unable to log into my credit union and other websites. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

Please provide some sample webite addresses for us to test. One possible issue is the sites may rely heavily on Flash, OS X does not have Flash integrated into it by default. Navigate to Adobe's website and download Flash and then retest.
Did you run Software Update and update to 10.6.8? If not, do that and see if that fixes the problem.
When you say logging into some Websites, do you mean that your password is not accepted, or your username?
Is this using Safari? Safari on Snow Leopard is becoming problematic - I've fallen over a number of websites which won't work properly on it; not particularly logins, but it's possible that they are on pages that Safari can't handle. When this happens I use FireFox - the latest version (30) is still compatible with Snow Leopard and will handle sites that Safari won't, so it's worth giving it a try.
We seem to be talking to ourselves here, but do you have Preferences in Safari set to allow cookies? If not, you need to allow cookies, but not third party ones, in order to be able to do logins.
In addition to Roger Wilmut 1's advice, also make sure that your Flash Player is up to date. System preferences>Other>Flash Player>Advanced, Check for updates
