Q: Match process stalling out at end

I've been using iTunes Match for about a year and a half and have started experiencing a new problem in the last couple of days.  I've added a few new tracks to my library over the last couple of days and have attempted to "Update iTunes Match." However, the matching process is stalling out at the end.  It looks like it's just about to finish but then it never does.  I have downloaded the most up-to-date version of iTunes, I have stopped and restarted the "Update iTunes Match" process numerous times.  I have closed and reopened iTunes several times.  I have restarted my computer and started over.  Etc. Etc. and the same problem keeps occurring.  Last night, I let the matching process continue overnight and it still had not finished in the morning.  I am at my wit's end at this point.  It's only 11 new songs that I'm trying to get iTunes to Match.  Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to resolve this problem?  Thanks!

    Now fixed -- about 60+ songs that had been "waiting" over the past week have now either matched or been uploaded.

    I was finally able to upload the five tracks I've been trying to upload for almost a week. I still have to do it via the "update iTunes Match" menu item rather than the "Add to iCloud" method, but it's working. Tracks are uploading and available to stream or download within a minute on my phone. So whatever was going wrong for the past week seems to have been fixed.  Thanks to everyone who called in to make sure this issue got attention.

    Match is up and working again for me. I emailed Apple about it, and they acknowledged the problem and gave me 2 iTunes song credits. This problem should not have happened, but at least they fixed it and appeased some of their customers.

    Good to hear some folks are seeing improvements. I'll check my iTunes at my first opportunity.

     

    Looks like our issue is getting attention in the media too. Once we are back up and running, it'd be nice if Apple offered a free extension for the downtime we've been experiencing.

    The same exact thing is happening to me.. I have been an iTunes march user since it's inception and now I can't upload any songs to iTunes match. It stalls during the matching process and provides no errors. The normal troubleshooting methods mentioned here on the forums do not work. There is clearly something wrong with the service. I just wish Apple would communicate that fact so we don't all keep wasting our time trying to upload songs until the service has been fixed. The lack of error messages and service status is maddening.

    In spite of those of you saying that the problem is fixed, I still can't do anything in iTunes.  It sits there and churns away saying that it's uploading my information - but I haven't downloaded very many songs in the past year.

    Which email did you use ? I opened a case on Friday and have yet to hear back from them. There was no acknowledgement of issue when I spole to the support rep on the phone. Part of the problem is iTunes match doesn't have direct support personnel, so if you know of a way to get support. please share. Thanks

    I am seeing vast improvement as well.

     

    iTunes was open with about 40+ songs in the "waiting" state.  I just checked on them and all of them have either Matched or Uploaded - and without me having to do anything (as it should be.)

    Sorry to hear that, Rob.  I don't know that the problem is entirely fixed and I'm not going to draw that conclusion yet.  All I know at this point is that my 11 tracks did get processed.  I will continue to monitor the situation, as I plan to add more tracks to my account this evening.

    All my songs that were "waiting" have uploaded. Still no word back from Support. Pretty frustrating that I took all these troubleshooting steps with them to have it randomly start working again.

     

    I will be adding more music this evening as well, so we will see if the issue has been corrected.

    Match has finally added the songs that were waiting  in my queue. I'm going to test it out by ripping a CD or two this evening. Thanks to all for contacting Apple support on this issue.

    Still seeing problems here, will complete the first 2 steps but continually fail to progress on the 3rd step to upload the songs that have not been matched sitting at 0 of X songs to be uploaded.

     

    Network activity shows it's making an attempt to connect to Apple's servers but nothing gets sent. Tried multiple machines, different networks and ensured that the tracks are compatible. Getting quite frustrated.

    here in Italy same problem. can't find a way to upload new songs, apple please take care of your customers!!
