UGH! Help...Admin User converted to Parental Controls now Admin Password doesn't work

Ok, so my wife asked me to put Parental Controls on our iMac so my son only has a certain amount of time on the iMac. Unfortunately I did have a lot of time and I tried to do it quickly by converting my login to a PC login account. It is the only login on the iMac and now I am locked out. I tried unlocking the PC settings and it asks for an Admin and Password. I put the original Admin and Password and it won't accept it obviously since I am no longer and Admin. I am running Mountain Lion.

Please help!!!

iMac, iOS 7.1.1

If that fails, try booting in Single User mode.

Restart the computer and at the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-S keys to start in Single-user Mode. This is a command line mode, not a GUI mode. There is no reason why you should attempt to start OS X normally in root mode. However, it is possible to enable a root user though rarely needed.

A root user has the ability to access other users' files.

I found another link where the user had the same issue they posted this as the solution. Do you have a second User on this computer?

Solution:

I simply logged out of the account I was in (which has always been my Admin Acct.) and logged into the Test Acct (which had somehow become the Admin Acct.). From there, I simply switched off Parental Contols for all the Users and I was back to normal. It was thanks to all of your posts that I read and reread - especially the one about not being able to apply PC to an Admin Acct, etc. It made me go back and have a good look at everything.

Another user mentioned that resetting password would fix this.

Boot into the Recovery Drive by holding down Command R when restarting.

Under Utilities in the Menu bar, select Terminal

Enter resetpassword
