My daughter set the brightness setting on my iphone 4 so that the screen is now black. I can't see anything on the screen in order to get to settings to reset the brightness setting. How do I reset when I can't see anything on the screen?

You can't make the screen go COMPLETELY BLACK with adjusting the brightness settings, it just makes the screen very very dark. It should still be easily visible in a completely dark room though, and continue the process from there. If the screen is actually completely off, maybe try turning on the phone? It may just be powered down. If that still doesn't work, hold down the home and lock buttons for 15 seconds, and see if the apple logo appears.
