I CAN'T ACCESS MY MAC! STUCK ON WINDOWS 7

I installed windows 7 on my macbook pro 13inch retina 2013 edition, and up until yesterday everything was running smmoothly and it would only boot up into windows if I held down the otion key and selected the drive myself. Today though (11/6/14) i went to normally boot up into y mac and it booted up straight to windows, and ive tried everything now, not even holding down the option button is working and I cannot access my Mac partition no matter what i do, ive been trying for countless hours to do something but nothing. I've also tried to use bootcamp within windows but no matter where i look, in the control panel or the task bar, i can't find it and to me it looks as though I have lost my mac 😟 somebody please help me. I've only had this computer for 4 months and if its already not working i don't think id go back to macs,

It is in violation of the SLA to install, use, or run any Apple software on any non-Apple brand hardware (there is no mention of it being acceptable if it's only temporary). It also would not work as you need your Apple ID and machine ID in order to obtain any software at the MAS.

Most likely they will erase your data. So if there is anything important you will need to find some way to backup your data before sending it for repair.

Use your brother's Mac to network your computer. You might be able to see if the data can be seen. If yes, you could run clone software to backup the drive to an external drive.

I managed to Fix the issue, all i did was call applecare and someone told me to hold down Alt + R with one hand then with my other hand ready on the Command + P keys, i turned it on and quickly pressed them down and waited. Instead of only the first chime there was a second much louder chime and it asked for my password and i was able to get onto my Mac without any other issues and i then deleted the useless windows partition and everything is now back to normal 🙂

If you have the Boot Camp support files installed in Windows you should be able to access the Boot Camp control panel. From there you can select the option to restart into OS X. I had to do this, but now I'm stuck in OS X and trying to figure out how to get back to Windows!

At my current situation would i be able to just create a bootable Mavericks usb and use that?

No, you can't do it from a Windows machine, it will need a functional OSX installation or a Recovery partition to download OSX.

I can use my brothers mac to download the mavericks installer, I was just wondering if it would work though given my current situation.

If you have another Mac that is compatible with Mavericks you can download it on that one, transfer to USB and use it with your Mac. Otherwise it's off to Apple.

This is the reason I have never installed windows on any of my Macs. Windows seems to corrupt things often enough. I use a small windows computer to do the things that will work on windows only.

Thanks for letting us know. Zapping the Pram is not the usual fix for the type of issue you have.

Now that you have access to your computer, I'm going to repeat my suggestion to create a clone backup.
