Jun 11, 2014 8:07 AMby Phyxsius27,The only message I receive is on iMessage when it can't deliver the message. It is in red and says NOT DELIVERED. This is all. My phone works now and no idea why because nothing has changed. I completely reset my ipad but reloaded it with my backup and still iMessage will not work.

Jun 11, 2014 8:48 AMby Demo,Many times that means that you are trying to message with someone that hasn't registered and set up messages on their device. The person that you want to message with must be setup already to use iMessage.
If it is now working on the phone, are you sure that you are not sending the texts as SMS? What color are the text bubbles?

The messages arrive to my phone which is connected to iMessage the same way as my ipad (on same account, email, and phone number), but nothing comes in on my ipad and I can't send messages either. I'm thinking it had a glitch or something because it started one week ago. My families other iPads work fine without any problems and ours are all setup in the same way. I've gone through all the settings to check them out.
I restored my ipad today again to factory settings and signed in as a new ipad and logged into iMessage, selected my email and phone number, etc and then I tried to send a message but unfortunately, it didn't work. The message still would not send. I'm not sure what else to do.

Jun 12, 2014 4:03 AMby Demo,If you have been through all of the support articles that Texas Mac Man posted above, I'm sure that you have seen this suggestion from Apple's kb article about troubleshooting FaceTime and Messages, but take a look again.
Check Settings>General>Date & Time>Set Automatically>On. Make sure that the time zone setting is also set correctly.
See if fooling around with the settings for the date and time jogs messages into working again. Maybe set them incorrectly, restart your iPad. Try again, then go back and correct the settings and try again. Frankly, I don't know what else to tell you either. I am grasping at straws myself. Why this would suddenly stop working out of the blue on two devices is astounding to me.
