Black MacBook with white cables?

Sorry if this has been answered before, but I am really curious if apple has an explanation as to why they shipped the Black MacBooks with white cables and a white remote.

I find this annoying.

how does a white powercord detract from the look and style?

honestly i like the contrast, but the color of the powercord and remote are probably the last thing im concerned with regarding the look of this computer.

i mean is someone ever gonna say "god that computer is ugly because it has a white power cord" i mean really?

i think this post is just too funny, especially since last night a friend made a comment along the lines of "i think its funny that your computer is black and has a white powercord and mine (a dell) is white and has a black power cord"

i just can't believe either of you are serious

so you want apple to make black headphones too for the black ipods too?

white has always been mac's colors, they offer black on selective products, but the base color system is white, they dont offer black headphones for black ipods because the white headphones are a signature of their product lines. similar reasoning to the powercord

if you really wanted your powercord and remote to match then you should have gotten the white macbook

and the issue with the glowing apple is to point out that contrast doesnt take away from overall appearance. white is the natural contrast to black, so it makes sense for certain things to be white. it makes no sense however for apple to produce an entirely separate line of powercords and remotes for the handful of people who dont like the contrast

Uh, the apple lisa I had in 1984 was beige. In fact so was the Mac SE I bought in 89. In fact I'm not sure when the first white Mac came out but it certainly hasn't been "always."

Also, you can change out the apple on the top to different colors, if you would like.

I don't think there is anything wrong with asking why apple shipped with white power cables (and yes, why does the black iPod only come with white headphones?).

My point is, someone spent a lot of time designing a black case, so the choice regarding color on the accessories must have been deliberate.

I want to know why that is. If you don't want to know why then just ignore this thread.

er thats not what i said - but at the same time i dont see what the problem is with offering black ipod headphones.

Ive also never regarded the power chord as a signature of a mac product or considered white as traditional mac colour until the introduction of the imac.

Apple powerbooks used to be black and include black power cables, its just a simple matter of taste in the end - I dont understand why you are getting so worked up about it.

you serious man? you're quote their 80s models as an rebuttal? sorry, the recent motiff for apples has been white (their laptops/ipods/imacs)

yes there is nothing wrong with asking, i was more perplexed by your statement "it annoys me" basically with why something so random has enough of an emotional effect to "annoy you"

white headphones accompany all ipods because that was a signature aspect of their marketing (if you remember there were high incidents of people being robbed of their ipods because they were so noticable by the bright white headphones)

if you think the choice to include a white powercord was a deliberate aesthetic choice (and not a matter of cost-as it would cost more to have black accessories manufactured separately, hiking up the price even higher for the black macbook) why is it a bad thing that they chose contrasting colors for the powercord/remote.

basically to me this is such an asenine aspect to worry about that its ability to "annoy you" just perplexes me

I can't help it if "always" to you only means the last seven or so years. My last powerbook was grey.

if you think the choice to include a white powercord
was a deliberate aesthetic choice (and not a matter

Snip

I was just asking. If I had an idea why then I wouldn't have posted the question.

Uh, I'm really unconcerned with what perplexes you. I am perplexed as to why they would ship a black computer with a different color accessories. If price actually IS the reason for this and not just a guess on your part then answer the question. If you don't know then don't answer it.

Now you are beginning to annoy me.
