How can I permanently delete my Twitter "Internet Account"?

System Preferences>Internet Accounts

I highlight my Twitter account, press the minus sign to delete, the account is removed from the list.

Count to 3.

The Twitter account re-appears in the list.

I can delete any of the other internet accounts, but Twitter keeps coming back.

Help please!

Are you suggesting that I delete my Twitter account? or "sign out of Twitter account on Mac, delete, sign back in".

If the former, that would be very problematic, the latter? I have tried this version numerous times to no avail.

I can create a new account on my Mac, connect to my Twitter account, do things, then delete the Twitter internet account just fine. My original account on my Mac, doesn't work.

Starting with a completely new user account on the Mac is also a very large amount of work - lots of software with licenses that are "user specific".
