iTunes download error -45054

Hi there

I find myself today to no longer be able to download items from iTunes in the cloud - movie purchases in my library. I try to download but it fails each time with the status of the download showing as ....

stopped (err = -45054)

The computer is authorised and has been working fine from since I got it with iTunes and streaming the movies I purchased as well as downloading.

I have searched for the error number mentioned but have located nothing - does anyone have any ideas how I can this fixed?

Many thanks

John

iTunes error -45054 - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5469367?answerId=23478840022#23478840022 - permissions error, try repairing disk permissions using Disk Utility.

Using Disk Utility to verify or repair disks - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1782 - Ignore false warnings this may produce.

If repairing permissions using Disk Utility does not work, try: iTunes: Missing folder or incorrect permissions may prevent authorization - http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1277

Thanks for this Limos.

The repair disk permissions did nothing and I had manually checked the permissions for Shared from Get Info in finder. After keying in the terminal permissions command (which appeared not at actually change anything as far as the Get Info window is concerned) it works!

Very strange indeed - now to watch the movie I was wanting to watch a couple of hours ago!

Thanks for the link to the chmod process. That fixed my errors too.

Note this error may be linked to trying to share an iTunes library. My library and my wife's were both getting to the 40 GB range and contained mostly the same songs so we eliminated one and put the other in the Shared folder with shared access to gain hard drive space and that is when the download problems started.
