iTunes U Subscription Problem

When I go to download a specific audio file or video in iTunes U, it Subscribes me to the entire course (without me even tapping Subscribe). How do I simply get one or two audio files without the entire course? I've only tapped the little "cloud"download button. Is this a glitch? How can I fix it?
