Every time I connect my computer to my Bluetooth speaker, iTunes automatically opens itself. I can't figure out what causes this, but it's annoying and I would like for it to stop. Does anyone know what causes this? Thanks in advance

Have you checked the documentation for the speaker? It's probably sending a, "Hey, wake up i'm here," message to iTunes.
The only thing that I've found is that it has music controls that can pause, play, track forward, and track backward from the music player. These work with Pandora, and I'm guessing iTunes. I'm using the Skullcandy Air Raid Bluetooth speaker if you know anything about that.
http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1666895 but it might work to just disable iTunesHelper. If you do that you may have to start iTunes whever you want to sync a device instead of it autostarting.
The solution you provided via Macrumors worked! Glad to finally have a solution to that.
I just did this in OSX 10.10.3 and it works. Took about 45 seconds to go in and rename the two UNIX files.
