Problem To Install Canon LBP2900B Printer!!!

Hello There,

I am running Mac OS 10.9.3.

I just purchased a Canon LBP2900B printer. Then I downloaded its drivers from various sites but they didn't work well for me. I installed Canon CAPT Version 3.66 but it contains printers from LBP3000 and up.

Then I installed Canon CAPT Version 3.65 which is likely to contain Drivers for Canon LBP2900B but i am unable to install it.

when i open the .pkg file it says "Canon CAPT Printer Drivercan't be installed on this disk. A later version of Canon CAPT Printer Driver is already installed."

Then i deleted all the previously installed drivers i.e. from LBP3000 and up.

Restarted my system 4-5 times, but it keeps on displaying the same message....

Please hepl me....

How could I Install my printer?????????

The Canon CAPT driver has not supported for the LBP2900B for many years. I think the last supported version of OS X was 10.6. If you just purchased this printer then it must have been used/second hand.

Some users have managed to get this printer working by copying the driver files from an older version of the Canon CAPT driver installed on an older version of OS X to the new version of OS X. Not sure if anyone has done this on 10.9, but they did on 10.8.

Have a read of this posting for that workaround.

Thanks for d suggestion PAHU.

but I saw a Video on Youtube.

From there I only got that only Canon CAPT Version 3.65 can help me out.

I think in the video also the person did some copy paste thing. But I could not get it completely.

If u know the procedure, please help me out.

and one more thing my printer is brand new. it is not second hand dear...😐
