Want to Appletalk to 'puter with OS

Hi:

I'm trying to connect to a Mac connected to a flow cytometer. Has Mac OS 9.2.2 on it. I am able to connect through Appletalk to two other workstations with the same operating system. However, the PowerMac G3 gives me the following error:
'This file server uses an incompatible version of the AFP protocol. You cannot connect to it.' Anybody know what's up?

Sitting at the Mac running OS9,
Go into Network ControlPanel, and enable AppleTalk over TCP/IP. (maybe restart that mac).

See if that helps.
(the other OS9's that aren;t having the problem might have already made that settings change)
