Can I temporarily activate an old iphone, then switch back to current phone?

I broke my iPhone 5s. I have apple care, but I can't get to an papal store for a while. Is it possible to switch to my old iphone and then switch back to my 5s once I am able to get it fixed? And how would I do that?

iPhone 5s, iOS 7.1.1

YOu would need to get a new sim card for your old phone and have it activated by your phone carrier, then when your replacement phone comes back you wil need to deactivate the old phone and activate new phone, which is all done by your phone carrier.
