When I try to upload my resume to a website, it is greyed out in Finder under documents and therefore I can not select it

When I try to upload my resume that was created in Pages to a website, it is greyed out in Finder under documents and therefore I can not select it. Please help. I do not know why this is happening and I am very new to macs. I have owned my first mac for less than a month. I need to know how to fix this so I can submit my resume to employers.
