Any way to set DV Audio sample rate in iM4?

Does the first DV capture determine the project rate or is it always 32K. It was 48K in OS9/iM2.

Thanks for any ideas/help,

Rocky

If you are talking about out of your camcorder, many of the older models off both 12 bit and 16 bit settings with the 12 bit often being the default. 12 bit equals 32k audio. 16 bit equals 48k audio. If you want 16 bit audio, then reset your camcorder to 16 bit to get 48k audio from the get-go.

Just to clarify, while 16-bit is what you normally want and I can not think of a good reason why anyone would want 12-bit, it should be noted that 16-bit is not a sure fire way to avoid audio sync issues. At least not in my own experience. I have found some instances where even at 16-bit, I still get a slight sync issue towards the end of longish (1-hr) projects and still resort to extracting all audio in an iMovie project before going back to tape or to iDVD.

sure, that out of sync with longer imports is a frequent issue here ... for NTSC users. 😉 (48kHz audio/29.95 fps = ??? there HAS to be a "gap") I don't have any trouble as PALuser on that, but I dare to post: import in smaller segments (esp. iM6 users), and try this tool:

that color fits perfect to my hair.. 😉
