Q: Imac with no os x

Hi,

I have an Imac late 2009 - a long story. My ex-husband take my imac in 2012 (and a lot of other things) and someone made my Imac to Imac-PC. Only Windows 7 ist availlable on my Imac. I got my Imac back in May, starting it.... Then I tried to start with "Alt" - but only finding Windows Partition, no OS X.

I put Maverick on an usb-stick - but nothing happend, Imac-Pc (grrrr) doesn't recognize this stick.

So I'm not able to install OS X...

Just saving all the things on Imac-PC and want to reinstall OSX, but not knowing how to do.

iMac (21.5-inch Late 2009), Windows 7

You'll need the original OS DVD's that came with the system, most likely was 10.6 Snow Leopard.

Anyway if you call Apple ((800) APL-CARE (800-275-2273)) with your serial/model number handy they will hook you up with the right DVD Once  you have that you cn install 10.6 and then upgrade to Mavericks if you wish.

    regards

Keep in mind that the original OS DVDs are system specific so the DVDs your brother has may or may not work in your system.

If you have problems with those DVDs then you will need to contact Apple.

    good luck

Locating a retail copy of snow leopard shouldnt be  all that difficult.

If you are finished with everything on that internal "windows" hard drive, then you have a green light to wipe it out and format so that it can take the MAC operating system.

    Good luck.
