Q: OMG - Have I got the wrong Mac ?! PT11 will not open.

I have just updated ProTools after the 'death' of my poor old (2007) MacBook pro.

As far as I can make out, I have got everything sorted - setup iLok2, licence transferred from old iLok, activated, downloaded PT11.1.3, installed drivers, Air Creative, installed PT11.1.3 with numerous restarts.

When I try to run PT11, I get a message to say that it has failed to open and I can display a big report to sendd to Apple.

Below is the info in the Mac, the o/s and the start of the report. Can somebody please point me to the issue and a solution (suicide is looming as one !!).

No suicide, no more agitation - I found the issue.

Very sorry to bleat, but it was right there in front of me. My dead MacBook was dead because of the screen - the HDD was ok and I had it extracted and put into an external case.

In the process of setting up iLoks and 'finding stuff', it was still connected to the new iMac. ProTools could see it too and was obviously "confused" about which PT version to run.

Now there is only one Mac HDD it is able to get itself started. I am able to playback my previous recordings so now to start some new ones.

Moral of the story - KISS !! (I WAS being stupid !)

    All good - so far . . .
