wont recognise my sd card

when i insert the sd card it says disk is not readable by this computer, options are initialize, ignore or eject tried to initialize wont do it though, it takes the sd card on my laptop and used to take it on the macbook

MacBook Air, iOS 7

Suggestion: Be sure that if this card has a slide lock on the side, it is in the unlocked position. Insert the card in your Mac and click "ignore" when asked. Now go to the Utilities folder in the Applications folder. Open the app Disk Utility and see if it shows the card. See if Disk Utility will mount the card. If not, have it unmount/eject the card, remove it from your Mac and reinsert it to see if it will mount.
