After 7 Upgrade Album Art GONE

So, upgraded like everyone else today... went through my iPod (not while inside iTunes) and some tracks that previously had Album artwork now don't have it. Tried to "paste" the artwork back... although it appears to have cover art when inside iTunes, but once I unplug the iPod from my Mac, the album artwork doesn't show up again.

Same with this new "get album art" feature. Any album I retrieve art for through iTunes shows up (in iTunes), but not on the iPod screen.

What gives? Why mess with a good, working thing? Or at least have it working properly when you get it out there. That's something Windows would do. Hope there's a patch available soon.

Hi all

I am not sure if this applies to all as I manually manage my songs. Previously I just dragged folders from my hard drive to the ipod and everything worked. Now, with the new iTunes, no artwork on the ipod! I restored and restored again, checked and unchecked....but nothing worked. I think I found MY solution though through trial and error....apparently artwork is handled differently in this new version... so now I have to add the folders first to the library and then drag from the library to the ipod....voila all my artwork is there. It requires one more step not unlike the having to "command info" to add artwork to multiple tracks NOW (everything is taking me just a bit longer to do)!

My other small gripe is using the word "delete" instead of "clear". I thought "clear" was a much more appropriate and nicer word. 😟

Sorry that is is not working for you. Try this. Make sure the album art is embedded in the songs and not just downloaded through itunes music store. To embed the album art...select all songs and "get info" (apple-I) and drag the art wotk to the little artwork box. If it is embedded and then dragged from your library to the ipod...it should work. See if this helps.

Re-embedding the artwork does not work.

I am another user affected by this nasty bug. Album art appears when playing iPod tracks via iTunes, but it does not appear on iPod standalone. I suspect the model for attaching album art has changed in iTunes 7. It is not at all clear where album art resides anymore, and attaching artwork manually does not seem to guarantee it is being inserted into the ID tag.

OT: This is yet another nasty bug with iTunes 7.0 to add to my pile of problems: hidden files ( http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=3154223#3154223 ), ignoring playback bookmarks ( http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=3154967#3154967 ), stuck playback at end of tracks ( http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=3176969#3176969 ). The pile is rising, the workarounds are non-existant.
