Q: How to repair bootcamp after messing up with partitions?

Hello there. I have a Macbook Pro Retina 15', I've created a new partition for the Yosemite but I didn't know it would mess up with my Boot Camp.

First I had this issue: (No bootable device --- insert boot disk and press any key) so I just used my bootable flash drive and try to repair the windows, of course its failed and starting showing up a new message error: "An error occurred while attempting to read the boot config data"

Then I follow the instructions on the first post: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4144252?start=0&tstart=0

But the windows keeping showing the same error (An error occurred while attempting to read the boot config data).

I don't have Yosemite partition anymore, but I have a hole and can't resize it anymore:

Here is my diskutil list:

/dev/disk0

   #:                       TYPE NAME                    SIZE       IDENTIFIER

   0:      GUID_partition_scheme                        *500.3 GB   disk0

   1:                        EFI EFI                     209.7 MB   disk0s1

   2:                  Apple_HFS Macintosh HD            246.4 GB   disk0s2

   3:                 Apple_Boot Recovery HD             650.0 MB   disk0s3

4:       Microsoft Basic Data BOOTCAMP                216.0 GB   disk0s4

And my sudo fdisk /dev/rdisk0

There are options. If you do not have an external optical drive (DVD/CD), but if you have another MAC, you can use Firewire/Thunderbolt and Target Disk Mode to repair. The environment is different than in your referenced link.

Because of changes, System Volume Information may be out-of-sync with the GPT version external to Windows (prior to your repair actually fixing any issues).

Is your USB drive a bootable drive?

I don't have external optical drive and don't have any FireWire/Thunderbolt (I even don't know where I can buy).

I think it's more easy to clean up my bootcamp and starts again from the beginning, since I have access to Bootcamp Partition I can copy my files without problems.

And yes, my USB flash drive was the original Bootcamp Boot Assistant (windows installation). I tried to make an Windows Recovery (the same as the DVD that windows create for me) but it doesn't work either.

Hi, Puding666. As you may know Apple just starts its Yosemite Beta test, and one day later I found myself in the same situation as yours: three partitions and only one usable right now.

May I know if you have solved this issue?

    Thanks in advance!
