Can my MBP (MD895LL) be upgraded into OSX Mavericks?
The Apple website said it can, and redirected me to the AppStore. When I clicked the 'free upgrade' button, a notification window appeared and said that Mavericks could not be installed on my MBP. This confused me. Help, anyone....?

Please check the model identifier of your MBP - the part # MD895LL does not produce anything but either an Applecare package part number or iPad.

Yes, the Apple site does say it meets the requirements; but it is at the very bottom end of the supported models (which has nothing to do with the message you got, but the performance will not necessarily be what you'd expect).
Are you on the 10.7 as shown in your profile? I'd update that to the latest (10.7.5) before trying to upgrade.
Aside from that, are you still using the original 2 GB RAM? That is supposedly the minimum; however, a minimum of 4 GB is recommended (more is better).
Also, be sure to make a full backup of your system before you try it.
If it still does not work as it is supposed to, I'd suggest taking it to your nearest Genius Bar and have them sort it out (free service).
My OS is MacOS 10.7.5 and the RAM is 3 GB.
I happen to live in a city where there's no Apple authorized distributor nor reseller, so that means we don't have the Genius Bar here. But thanks anyway, your replies have been very helpful. Thanks a lot, Babowa.
Sorry I couldn't figure it out; but sometimes it's impossible to do long distance troubleshooting without being able to see or duplicate the problem.

I've been trying hard to install Mavericks on my MBP, yet the installation wizard kept saying that Mavericks could not be installed on my MBP.
I really do not and cannot understand why, yet http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5842 said that my MBP CAN BE installed with Mavericks. in that address that I gave, you'll be able to see that my MBP was not in the last rows of the list of supported types to install the Mavericks.
Who else I should contact to solve this problem....? :'(
Well, but it is the earliest (oldest) Macbook Pro model you can run Mavericks on (I'm not referring to other computers). You are right on the edge so to speak for that model. When Apple decides which machines can run the new OS, they have to do a cut off and, although yours is a mid 2007, it might have been manufactured before that cut off date. Another thing is that you may not be happy with the performance; 3 GB of RAM is stretching it a bit thin - Apple supports up to 4 GB, and OWC (macsales.com) has tested it to 6 GB. I would definitely consider upgrading the RAM. I assume you have enough empty hard drive space?
If you do not have an Apple store (free troubleshooting) or an authorized service provider near you, then the only other thing I can think of is to contact Apple support; however, since you're no longer covered by a warranty, you'd have to pay for the service call.
