Hi

Is this - Playback of

- Commersial Movie DVDs ?

- Home made Video-DVDs from iDVD ?

If the last sort it use to be:

- Use of cheap brands of DVDs - as MeMorex, NoName etc - Usually do not work as Video-DVDs

- Type of DVD used - I only use DVD-R as they play on many (even older DVD-players) - NEVER DVD+/-RW as they usually do not work

- BURN SPEED - I always set this down to x2 (ev x4 MAX) - Makes a big difference

- Free space on Boot (Macintosh HD) hard disk - I never go less than 25Gb

- Use of material iDVD really ca not handle (Video-Codec, Photo & Audio file formats)

Save as a DiskImage (in iDVD) - and test this to see that all works OK

If Commersial Video/Movie-DVDs

- Then I would take the Mac to a Mac-Store and get it tested.
