Stuck on "Choose a Network.

My IPod touch has seemed to sporadically decide that it won't connect to my wifi anymore. And by this, I mean that it seems to be stuck on the "choose a Network" message when I try and connect to my network. It's worked on the day it decided to stop working, it had connected to multiple networks before, but it seemed to have the same problem of taking a great while to connect.

I've tried doing a hard reset, clearing all the network options, and trying to connect to multiple different networks. I have yet to do a factory reset, and would very much like to avoid doing that as I have a large amount of information on there that I would loath to copy back over only to find out it's a hardware issue.

It's a 3G, 32 GB, second hand, running IOS 5.1.1.

.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: How to back up

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
