Perl: Bad Hostname

I'm using the perl script provided in the iTunes U Sample Code download, and when I run it I receive the following error:

500 Can't connect to deimos.apple.com:443 (Bad hostname 'deimos.apple.com')

I have modified the script to reflect all of the information specific to my institution, and still no luck.

Also, I modified the time to reflect the testing example at the end of iTunes U Administrator's Guide: Chapter 2 and the signature that is made is different from that in the example.
