Can't import contacts from SIM?

I've tried a lot. I had to factory reset my phone for it having over 2.5 GB of corrupted data, and while the corrupted data is now gone, so are all my contacts. I can't get them off my SIM for some reason. It gives me a 'Importing Contacts from SIM', and then stops. I check my Contacts and it still says No Contacts. I don't know what to do.

iPhone 5, iOS 6.1.4

Are you sure your contacts are on the SIM?

iPhones do not store contacts on the SIM, they are stored on the iPhone. If you used that SIM with another phone that did store your contacts on the SIM, they might be there, but if that SIM was only used with your iPhone, then the contacts are not on the SIM.

You should sync your contacts with iTunes in your computer, iCloud, Hotmail, Yahoo, Facebook or another similar type of internet service. If you have done this, you can resync them back to your iPhone from there.

Also, if you have a made a backup of your iPhone either on iCloud or on your computer, you could restore the iPhone using that backup and get your contacts back.

You could restore from the backup that has the contacts and the corrupted data, then sync your contacts with a computer or cloud service, then restore as new to get rid of the corrupted data and then resync with whatever service you have used or with your computer.

It might be time consuming but when you are done, you have your contacts back on your iPhone and no corrupted data.

Also, please note that the Other on your iPhone is not necessarily corrupted data. There are many normal items that iTunes classifies as Other.

I've gone to Apple before and from there, they've been able to get contacts off of my SIM card, as they're not anywhere else apparently, but I can't get them myself..? I've done what you've said, and I get nothing.
