Windows cannot update the starter configuration. The installation cannot continue

Hi all,

I have the same problem with Win 10.

I use bootcamp, after the restart, I click on EFI, Win 10 is installing, and before the end (last step) i have this error message: Windows cannot update the starter configuration. The installation cannot continue.

If someone can help me.

What year/model is your Mac?

It is a Macbook Pro Retina mi-2014 2,8 Ghz i7 16 Go.

If you have a partial installation, use BC Assistant and remove it. Disconnect all external storage and run the following two procedures,

How to Reset NVRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

This is usually the case when writing BCD and BootManager. When you run BCA next time, please do not interrupt it using Alt/Option to select EFI.
