Unable to update 5G iPod firmware through iTunes 7

Since installing iTunes 7, I downloaded a few games, plugged in my 5G iPod (to upgrade my firmware) and iTunes tells me that my iPod is already up-to-date. Therefore, the games were a worthless purchase and I cannot gain any of the new features.

Any ideas?

MacBookPro ~ iMac 17" (both Intel Duo Core), Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Deauthorizing, reauthorizing then rebooting iTunes resolved this issue.

Thanks, styx. I got this same error, but ended up hooking my 5G to a friends MacBook to get the 1.2 ipod firmware update.

But I'll try this on mine just make sure it's all good.
