Unable to download app at this time.

Hello, today I was downloading some apps but after some time I got an error showing that "Unable to download app" The app cannot be downloaded at this time. I tried retrying but no use. I tried all the methods of troubleshooting. I resetted my network settings and also all contents and settings but the error was the same. Then I tried downloading apps with my carrier network it was fine, but I can only download 100MB with the carrier nework I was able to download with carrier before the reset as well. I tried changing the date and all other Wi-Fi troubleshooting. This error just occured today. Any help would be appreciated.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

This works for some users. Not sure why.

Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year. Then see if you can connect to the store.

 Cheers, Tom 😉

There may be different problems,

• There may not be enough storage.

• Check if you're running the latest version of iOS, sometimes Apps require that.

• Some carriers don't allow you do download apps over cellular data.

• If you have a limited amount of data on your cellular data plan, you may need more than the amount of data you have left for the, day, week, or month.

PS. If you only have 100MB on your plan and have already downloaded an app that month, you probably can't download another one unless you're on a WiFi network. WHY: Because most apps take at least 89MB.

I've been having the same problem and have spend hours on the phone with apple trying to resolve it with still no success. Changing the DNS server to 8.8.8.8 and/or 8.8.4.4 did not help but I thought it would because when I used another wifi system, I was able to download the apps.

When I tried setting the clock ahead one year (tried several times) I was unable to connect to the App store. How did you who tried that get it to work?

Thanks, Martha

This is an update. Yesterday while on the phone with apple, I restored my iPhone as a new phone to see if all my problems would be resolved. The apple representative then asked me when done to go download CNN again and I had the same problem so this must not be related to my software. Then I was able to download some other apps so I can download and upgrade some apps and not others using my wifi. If I use cellular, I can download anything and I can also download anything if I use iTunes. This is still a mystery.
