Version of google drive no longer supported

Personally, Google Drive is garbage on OS X Mavericks. Users are still complaining about issues with Google Drive even on the latest version of OS X Mavericks.

Until Google can get Its Drive app to function well and properly on Mavericks, I would completely uninstall Google Drive per the instructions on Google's website and keep it off of your Mac for the near future.

What were you using before Google Drive came along?

I do not use any Google software, myself.

I am reporting the issues found in both Google's own troubleshooting forums as well as issues reported here in these forums and one or two other Mac magazine troubleshooting forums I am, also, active in.

Both Google Chrome AND Drive are not running completely stable on Mavericks.

You can continue to continue to run this software, as is, at the risk of your Mac slowing down or causing other performance issues or bugs OR choose to uninstall it for awhile until Google really issues a seriously major update for Mavericks that gets the software running bug free and stable.

Google is going to have to cure the various bugs in Drive in Chrome soon as OS X Yosemite is coming soon in the fall.

I can offer no other options for you.

This looks to me like another Google issue or bug and not an Apple issue.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling Drive them apply the update.

If this doesn't work, the try uninstalling and then install the update directly.

Check Google's website for the proper instructions for applying updates.

1.Click the Google Drive icon, which you'll find in your computer's menubar at the top of the screen.

2.From the drop-down menu, select Preferences.

3.When the Google Drive Preferences window opens, choose Disconnect account.

4.After you've confirmed disconnecting your account, open the Applications folder and move the Google Drive icon to your trash.

Try DropBox.

If it is in your Users & Groups log-in items, try removing it and then log out/in.

happens to me all the time! so annoying. Can't open it, there are no preferences - just came up now again!!! Grrrrr
