My Apple TV's red light is not on but cables are both good. It's asking me to plug in a micro USB cable? I don't have an Apple USB cable. I've only had this for 6 months. Help!

So I have to buy a micro-USB cable in order to fix the problem??
If you were attempting to update, it did not apply properly due to a network issue. There may have also been an interruption within your area that caused it to go into recovery mode.
Most have a cable lying around, or it can be had for cheap in smaller retailers/online.
