Jun 16, 2014 9:06 PM in response to Kappyby media fred,1. Are you basing that on the dotted line going from the Extreme AC to the Express?
2. The Express is plugged into a switch that is plugged into ethernet from the wall. I want the Express to get its internet directly from the ethernet cable instead of wirelessly to get the best possible signal. How do I do that?
Thanks.

Jun 16, 2014 9:11 PM in response to media fredby Kappy,★HelpfulThe AEX should be connected via Ethernet from its Ethernet port to a LAN port on the AEBS. It will get connected to the Internet via Ethernet. The AEX is then configured to either Join or Extend the network. This is always done wirelessly (it makes no sense for Ethernet.) The best wireless signal is if you choose to Extend the network.

Jun 17, 2014 12:14 AM in response to Kappyby media fred,1. I guess I didn't quite get how this worked. Are you saying that I can not just plug an ethernet cable coming from an active port in a wall in a room into a switch and then plug an ethenet cable from the switch into the Express? But instead, I need to connect an ethernet cable from the Extreme to the Express to do what I want to do?
2. What did you mean by "The AEX is then configured to either Join or Extend the network. This is always done wirelessly (it makes no sense for Ethernet.) The best wireless signal is if you choose to Extend the network."
Are you saying it makes no sense to put ethernet into my Express since the ethernet is coming from the wall and not the Extreme, and I will just have to do it wirelessly by extending the network?
Thanks for your help!
