Make a new Sticky note from an application

All applications have a means of making a new sticky note from the application menu/Services/make a new sticky note, but it does not work on my G5 imac. The application menu blinks but a note is nowhere to be found. I have searched the forums and have tried trashing the stickies preferences but nothing was found or has worked. I am able to create a note from the Stickies application however.

Alkov...

"All applications have a means of making a new sticky note from the application menu/Services/make a new sticky note, but it does not work on my G5 imac."

Is that from the Stickies.app or the Stickies Widget?

I do not have the Services option available for the Stickies.app and 10.3.x only runs Yahoo Widget Engine. So I am clueless if you would be running the Dashboard version of Stickies.

Perhaps those in the 10.4 forum knows things better?

Thanks for the answer. I am using neither the application stickies nor a dashboard widget. I am in an application (safari for example) with text selected and attempt to create a sticky from the services/make a new sticky note. The Sticky help menu states that a note will be created using that command. I also would like to add that I have an ibook G4 which also does not repond to that command.

All I did was launch Stickies.app, close the default junk while not saving, make a new note from the Edit menu, and quit the application.

I next tried it from Finder and it made a small desktop picture. I quit the app then. (That retains the sticky itself)

Next I launched Safari, highlighting a 3 line sentence out of its first hit, then to Finder ->> Services ->> Make New Sticky Note. Stickies launches with highlighted text in place. I quit to retain sticky.

Because Stickies.app retains (keeps its own data) OR saves (Externally as a file) oddly, I seldom use it. A such a simple .app but awkard to use.
