If you install it to the flash drive, it will work. The problem is that most flash drives are MUCH slower than your hard drive. You'll be waiting forever for it to load... as well as any parts of the game that require loading data during play. Is there a reason why you just don't want to install it on your XP partition? A better option would be to use an external hard drive.

Just as an FYI... installing a game on a flash drive has no impact on how much RAM the game will use. The flash drive is pretty much treated the same as a hard drive. A MacBook really should have at least 1GB of memory to perform well... especially if you're going to run games under OS X. Basically, if the Sims uses 200 MB of your RAM when you have it installed on a hard drive, it will still use 200 MB of your RAM if you install it on a flash drive.
