Sync doesn't work!

My iMac is weird, and now it dosen't even sync. When i go to devices, "sync" is colured in white, and i cant click on it! And it says i need to restore ipad or create a new ipad.????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????😠😠😠😠😠😠
