Mapping Service?

Hi All

1 G data normally last me an entire month. Since Last week something is using up all my data and normally under Cellular you can see a breakdown of what uses your data. Right at the bottom there is a link called System Services and if I click on that I can see Mapping Service is using up all my data? I have turned off everyting possible that I think can have any impact to this but its still using my data. I have even turned off location services (which was not turned off before and previous months I did not have any problems) but its still using up my data?

Please help???

Hi,

I am also having the same problem! Iv used nearly 2 GB in the last few days, all for mapping services. I turned off cellular data for everyhting (except whatsapp) and still used 500MB in less than 24 hours. Called my cellular provider initially, and they investigated and said most of the data was going to Apple Maps (location services), so i turned off my location services completely, which slowed down the data usage, but didnt completely stop it. I reset all my usage statistics this morning, and have used 170MB on mapping services, just today. Please may someone explain exactly what my phone is doing with all this data.

Hi all. I reset my phone yesterday to original settings. Although pain to set everything up again it has since yesterday not used any mapping service data. It is currently however turned off as per original setting. Have to add that this was always on as I use it for weather updates and Facebook posts and it was never a problem before ??? I will going forward only turn it on when necessary and turn off straight after. When I initially phoned my service provider they told me they received similar complaints from other I phone iOS 7.1.1 users but I thought they just tried to get rid of me and blame apple. But reading your reviews I am starting to think it is not me that changed a setting or my service provider?? Good luck to All.

So has anyone had any joy with this? Same issues being experienced and a google shows a large proportion of AT & T users struggling with this issue. I started to get data usage on the Itunes account even though I was signed out. Something is not right, things are turned off yet seem to still manage to consume large (ridiculously in some cases) amounts of data.

I am so mad! What does Apple think? That I'm just supposed to go without data?? I cant afford much data at the moment as im a student abroad, now I've been cut of from communicating to loved one's back home. I have been a loyal customer, and now their maps data or location services just ate up all my data. And Apple wont even bother to reply or give a solution. Very upset!! The other day it used 490mb!!! WHAT THE H ll APPLE??!!!! FIX THIS IMMEDIATELY!! Apple left me in the dark! =(

Hey Theunis, looks like you have a Afrikaans name? I happen to have Vodacom as my service. Are you also from South Africa? I have posted this problem on mac rumours too. http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1748696 I went to the Apple store yesterday in Centurion and they told me this same problem happened to some other Vodacom users as well. I was so sure this was Apple's fault, but I also have some suspicions this may be Vodacom. I'm going to want to be compensated for this if this is Vodacom.

I Am also on vodacom. I contacted them first and they said first my settings is wrong as I am running some maps app, then told me after I went through all my settings with me that it is an apple problem as similar complaints have been Reported !!! I am sooooo frustrated. I have now reset my phone twice and I still have the same problem. Seems to be only certain users as other people I know has iPhone and is with vodacom and they dont have issues. Eish....
