Personal Hotspot

Hi there... My Macbook Pro can't seem to connect to my iPhone 5's personal hotspot, which I was always able to do. The network settings indicates that the iphone is either unplgged or not responding. What can I do to fix this?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5), iPhone 5 ver iOS 7.1.1

Thanks AnaMusic but I've tried exactly that a few times but didnt work.
