Email sent from my iPhone 5 sometimes is rejected by server, because server does not allow relaying

I have a POP email account. Sometimes, not always, when I send an email from my iPHone 5, I get a message that states "Cannot send Mail. The recipient was rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying." I never get this message if I am sending email from my laptop, through Outlook.
